Moodle . . . and no, I don't mean noodle!

FWCC (Friends World Committee for Consultation) has seen to it that "Moodle" pages have been set-up for each of the 19 Home Groups through Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre in Birmingham, England.

Moodle pages are a place where Home Group members can introduce themselves and get acquainted before arriving in Pisac and to interact afterwards. My group will be communicating in both English and Spanish – so I’ve needed to learn how to use Google translate to translate what I write so that I can post in both English and Spanish . . . a learning experience all on its own!

Digging in and learning about Moodle and how it works has become another interesting piece to this journey . . . and then trying to figure out why what I wrote wasn't being translated by Google translate into Spanish for me . . . finally got that piece figured out.

So, now along with Yahooing, Facebooking and Blogging . . . I Moodle!

I've already learned so many new things since I became an FWCC Representative for Western Yearly Meeting . . . now wondering what else God has planned for me in this journey!

Moodle . . .  y no, no me refiero a los tallarines!

CMCA (amigos Comité Consultivo Mundial) ha visto que "Moodle" páginas han sido puesta a punto para cada uno de los 19 grupos inicio a través del centro de estudios Woodbrooke Quaker en Birmingham, Inglaterra.

Páginas moodle son un lugar donde los miembros del grupo Inicio pueden presentarse y conocer antes de llegar en Pisac y luego interactuar. Mi grupo se comunicarán en inglés y español, por lo que he necesitado aprender a utilizar Google translate para traducir lo que escribo, así que puedo publicar en inglés y en español . . . un aprendizaje experiencia en su propio!

Cavar en y aprender acerca de Moodle y su funcionamiento se ha convertido en otra pieza interesante a este viaje . . . y luego intentando averiguar por qué lo que escribí no estaba siendo traducido por Google traducir al español para mi . . . por fin consiguió que pedazo descubierto.

Así, ahora junto con Yahooing,: a pie y blogs . . .  Moodle!

Ya he aprendido muchas cosas nuevas desde que se convirtió en un representante del CMCA para reunión anual de la Western . . . ahora pensando lo otro Dios tiene previsto para mí en este viaje!

 

 

 

 

Home Group 2Fell/Grupo de Baso 2 . . .

Home Group 2Fell . . . my Home Group for the FWCC World Plenary session in Pisac, Peru. Home Groups are "an opportunity to get to know a small group of Friends more deeply, to worship and share together around the theme and the experience of the gathering." (From one of the Advanced Documents sent out by the FWCC World Office.)

 

Home Groups meet every day except Friday. Saturday and Sunday the Home Groups will grow to include Friends from Peru and Bolivia that come to share with us.

Here's what I know so far about Home Group 2Fell:

• Consists of 18 Friends from around the world;
• A Friend from Sweden;
• A Young Adult Friend from Ireland;
• A Friend from Honduras;
• Four Friends from the United States; and
• Is bi-lingual, English and Spanish.

 

The Friend from Sweden and I got acquainted as members of the '2014 Quaker Alphabet Blog' project/challenge - I'm so glad that she made that connection for me, I hadn't gotten there yet. I'm excited that we will be meeting in person and will have opportunities to share with each other.

The Young Adult Friend from Ireland, is the grandson of one of the Irish Friends that I had a most enjoyable conversation with regarding Scouting while attending Ireland Yearly Meeting in July 2013, not sure if the two of us actually met or not that week. He has a sibling or cousin that will also be attending the Plenary, and I expect that we'll meet as well.

I may be further surprised to find that I have maybe met another member or two of my Home Group previously, only time will tell. 

Through our self-introductions on our Home Groups page, I've also learned that I'm in a group of Friends that are very actively involved among Friends . . . and I've only met 6 of the 17 Friends so far! I'm looking forward to getting to know all these Friends over the next several weeks and spending time in worship, business and sharing conversation with them.

 

Looking forward to meeting many new Friends during the Plenary and making lasting Friendships - and my Home Group is a place to start.

Home grupo 2Fell... mi grupo de casa para el CMCA mundo pleno de Pisac, Perú. Inicio grupos son "an la oportunidad de conocer a un pequeño grupo de amigos más profundamente, para adorar y compartir juntos el tema y la experiencia de la reunión. " (de uno de los documentos de avanzada enviado por la Oficina Mundial de la CMCA.)

Inicio grupos reúnen todos los días excepto los viernes. El sábado y el domingo los grupos Inicio crecerá para incluir a amigos de Perú y Bolivia que vienen a compartir con nosotros.

 

Aquí está lo que sé hasta ahora sobre Grupo hogar 2Fell:

• Consists de 18 amigos de todo el mundo;
• Un amigo de Suecia;
• Un amigo adulto joven de Irlanda;
• Un amigo de Honduras;
• Cuatro amigos de los Estados Unidos; y
• es bilingüe, Inglés y español.

 

El amigo de Suecia y casé conocido como miembros del '2014 Quaker alfabeto Blog' proyecto desafío - ¡ estoy tan contenta que ella hizo ese sentido para mí, que no había recibido todavía. Me emociona que se reunirá en persona y tendrán la oportunidad de compartir con los demás.

El amigo adulto joven de Irlanda, es el nieto de uno de los amigos irlandeses que tuve una conversación muy agradable con respecto a Scouting mientras asistía a la reunión anual de Irlanda en julio de 2013, no estoy seguro si los dos realmente se reunió o no esa semana. Él tiene un hermano o primo que estará también presente en el pleno, y espero que conoceremos así.

Seré más sorprendidos al encontrar que tal vez conocí a otro miembro o dos de mi grupo de casa previamente, el tiempo lo dirá.

A través de nuestros uno mismo-presentaciones en nuestra página de inicio de grupos, también he aprendido que estoy en un grupo de amigos que son muy activamente entre amigos... y sólo he conocido hasta ahora 6 de los 17 amigos! Estoy deseando conocer todos estos amigos sobre la próxima varias semanas y pasar tiempo en adoración, negocios y compartir conversación con ellos.

Mirando adelante a la reunión de nuevos amigos durante el plenario y hacer amistades duraderas - y mi grupo de casa es un lugar para empezar.
